There is one problem that us vegetarians face when we decide on eating out- picking a place which serves only veg. While Kolkata is quite famous for its rolls and biriyanis, the city is also home to a lot of vegetarians like people from the Gujarati and Marwari community. No wonder, Kolkata boasts of some brilliant veg only restaurants which are a must visit for vegetarians only!
A soulfood story brings to you 5 amazing pure veg eat outs to look out for in the city:
Fly Kouzina- Located in the planned Salt Lake City (Sector 1), Fly Kouzina, is not only a favorite among vegetarian diners for its veg only menu ,but also for its airport/flight inspired theme and interiors.
Must try here– Dal Makhni with nan, Malai Paneer Tikka and Risotto

Cafe 4/1– A cafe which is known for its delicious food and unreal presentation, is also probably one of the only all veg cafes in Kolkata. Located on Camac Street, the rusty interiors, amazing food and ambiance, makes cafe 4/1 a must try for vegetarians!
Must try here- The Great Garlic Bread, Bengali Thali, MI3 Pizza, Chatka Mary (a mocktail) and more!

Balwants Singhs Eating Dhaba– One of the oldest and finest dhabas in the city! Balwants Singhs Dhaba has been our late night visit on many occasions! Located in Elgin Road, close to the Gurudhawa, this dhaba is known for lip smacking punjabi food! And the best part? It is all veg! I am sure, this came to you as a surprise, a veg dhaba is quite unusual.
Must try here– The extremely popular Doodh Cola, Paneer Tikka, Aloo Tikka, Paneer butter masala, chai are some of my picks here!

The Induction- A small snacks kiosk, but serves really tasty pocket friendly food. Located in Bhawanipur, this place is a new addition and becoming my absolute favorite.
Must try here- Penne in pesto sauce, vada pav and sandwiches!

Casa Kitchen- A complete fine dine located on the first floor of Hotel Casa Fortuna. A perfect place for dinner with your family. The breakfast buffet and vast menu spoils vegetarians for choice!
Must try here- Grilled pineapple, Paneer Tikka, Veg florentine and the buffet.

So here you have it, a good mix of dine-ins and takeaways for you vegetarians out there 🙂
